This group offers expert advice on a full range of capital markets and structured finance transactions and derivatives. It operates as an integrated part of an international capital markets and structured finance team. The clients that this team represents include managers, arrangers and issuers, trustees and depositaries of debt, equity, equity linked and other instruments and originators of securitised assets as well as investors in such instruments. Lovells has advised clients on these products for many years, including advising on Eurobonds since that market's inception in the 1960's, on its first securitisation as early as 1984, and on high yield bonds when they were first introduced from the US in the early 1990's. The team focuses on the complex "high added value" end of the capital markets. In the last few years, the team has grown enormously with steadily improving deal flow and market-leading positions in a number of areas. In 2004, the team in London completed 43 securitisations in an aggregate amount of over €25 billion. This represents an increase of 39% compared with the total value of securitisations which Lovells completed in 2003 (€18 billion).
We continue to have aggressive ambitions for growth in our capital markets practice and are looking for aspiring, able lawyers to help achieve our goals.
We would be interested in receiving outstanding CVs of solicitors who ideally have approximately one years' post-qualification experience or similar experience in debt or structured debt work and/or general security (including equity) experience; however we would welcome CVs from all levels.
Candidates should ideally have a mixture of experience in some or all of High Yield Bonds, Plain Vanilla Bonds, securitisation, repackagings, CDOs and derivatives. Candidates should be currently either at a leading City or US firm or in the legal/transaction management department at an investment bank, having originally trained at a leading City or US firm. We are not interested in receiving the CVs of candidates with only equity experience. Candidates that are wishing to break out of the pigeon hole environment that exists at many of our competitor firms will be both attracted by and attractive to our group. We offer our lawyers the opportunity to obtain a breadth of experience while still allowing them to build expertise in specific areas as and when suits them.
It is the policy of the firm to provide equal opportunities for all employees in relation to recruitment, training and promotion. Decisions in these areas will be made only in reference to the requirements of the job and shall not be influenced by any consideration of ethnic origin, religion, sex, age etc.
