Commercial Contracts/IP/IT Lawyer, Glasgow - Job Description
An exciting new role has now arisen within this prestigious IP/IT team in Glasgow. The Technology Group is a dedicated team of intellectual property and information technology lawyers. It deals daily with cutting edge technologies. The work that the Group does is fairly diverse ranging from advising significant corporations on deals worth hundreds of millions of pounds to advising small start up companies on how to bring their products to market. Typically the work includes: - Advising public sector organisations and private sector clients on significant IT and business process transactions. For example advising on a £250m multi vendor sourcing strategy for a major utility company; advising on the £500m renewal of telecoms arrangements within a global organisation and advising a global bank on the off-shoring of some of its IT development to India; Negotiating and drafting all forms of information technology related agreements from software licenses and maintenance and support agreements through to multi million pound IT outsourcings; corporate transaction support principally in the form of IT and IP due diligence; Advising universities and companies on the licensing and commercialisation of IP and compliance issues, particularly in the bio-science field; and Advising on issues such as sponsorship, image rights, on-line gambling, privacy, Fol and other cutting edge legal issues. The team is looking for enthusiastic lawyers prepared to take on an interesting and challenging role. Successful candidates must demonstrate that they are team players. (Assignment 5453)
