The Commercial Public Sector & Projects team specialises in all forms of public-private contracting, commercial advice in the public sector and public law issues. It is a four partner team in the Commercial Group, which has 6 partners and over 30 fee earners .
We advise on a full range of commercial matters (in both stand alone and support capacity) to the firm’s clients. Our experience ranges across the commercial spectrum of contractual and incorporated joint ventures, outsourcing, collaboration and partnering arrangements, PPP/PFI projects, facilities management, Data Protection and Freedom of Information, as well as Competition, State Aid and public procurement. We have a broad client base with significant experience in IT, e-commerce, and serviced accommodation projects in education, environmental, leisure and cultural, and health sectors.
The Group work together on many transactions but for recruitment and training/development purposes, the Group comprises three specialist areas: public sector; commercial contracting; and intellectual property/IT.
The Commercial Public Sector & Projects team is looking for up to four lawyers between NQ and 4 years PQE. For newly qualified lawyers an interest in and enthusiasm for this type of work is more important than direct experience. More qualified lawyers should have experience of working in the public sector and/or projects experience. We involve all our lawyers fully in transactions with responsibility given early in your career. Your role will be to assist on these transactions, have regular contact with clients, plus to take responsibility for marketing and developing work through tenders and client relationships.
