Construction and Engineering Associate (non-contentious), London (two to four years’ PQE) - Job Description
We are looking to recruit a non-contentious construction and engineering associate with two to four years' pqe to join our Construction and Engineering team, which is part of the wider Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group. The Construction and Engineering team consists of six partners, thirteen associates and three trainees and is characterised by forward thinking, highly-skilled practitioners, who act at the forefront of new methods of procurement and on projects that set the benchmark in terms of scale, complexity and risk. We deal with front-end risk analysis and contract documentation through to risk management and dispute resolution, giving uncompromising and commercial advice. This combination of legal excellence, strategic vision and commercial practicality has resulted in an outstanding record of advising on high value complex projects and in resolving complex cases both in the UK and internationally.
We were one of the first firms in England to create a dedicated construction and engineering practice. Thirty years later, we are still leading the way by providing comprehensive, innovative and practical legal services to all sides of the industry.
Successful candidates will ideally be UK qualified and have between two to four years' experience in a leading Construction and Engineering practice. The ideal candidate should have solid experience of drafting and advising on domestic construction contracts, with some international exposure. The role offers a broad mix of work on real estate, construction and engineering projects, acting for a wide-ranging client base including financial institutions, property companies, tenants, contractors, sub-contractors and consultants. Although the Construction and Engineering Group sits within the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group, this is largely a non-contentious position (pre-dispute advice would constitute a small part of the role together with some possible involvement in adjudications and mediations). We do not require the candidate to have prior contentious experience.
