The role:
We are looking for high achieving lawyers to join our Dispute Resolution Construction group to undertake a mix of high profile, varied and complex contentious and non-contentious matters.
Our Construction and Engineering Group is consistently ranked as a leading practice and many of the Group's Partners are listed among the top construction and engineering lawyers in the world. The Construction and Engineering group in our London office is part of our Commercial Disputes group within the Dispute Resolution department and consists of 29 Partners and 100 Associates.
As a specialist Construction Associate you will regularly deal with the tactical and strategic issues that arise in complex commercial disputes, including managing the review and disclosure of voluminous documents and effective preparation and presentation of complicated technical factual witness and expert evidence.

As a Construction Associate your main responsibilities will involve:
• Acting as a lead associate on small to medium cases including responsibility for strategy and planning
• Attending mediation and settlement discussions, and drafting and reviewing settlement agreements
• Drafting complex documents such as pleadings
• Formulating and challenging case strategy
• Participating in pitches and taking responsibility for pitch documentation
• Participating in seminars, providing training to clients and other associates and working with our Business Development Manager to generate ideas
• Establishing profile and relationships with partners and clients
• Delegating and mentoring junior associates and trainees
• Participating in graduate recruitment
As a Construction Associate your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 3 year PQE
• High quality lawyer with strong technical and commercial background
• Intellectually strong with first class academics
• At least three years experience at a leading law firm
What we are looking for in you:
As an experienced lawyer you will have strong technical and commercial abilities, and will be able to work effectively as part of a team and supervise more junior lawyers. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to take on a high degree of responsibility and manage a challenging workload. You must also be proactive and committed to providing an excellent service to our clients.
