The team
The firm is committed to the development of a strong construction sector presence by the appointment of a team of diverse but committed and close knit specialist lawyers to build upon the firm's excellent client base within the construction industry.
The team has over the last 12 months been appointed to advise in respect of various complex and high profile construction matters in the region, nationally and overseas.
This is a further strategic appointment to continue the team's development. The successful candidate will have between 1 and 3 years experience and will work closely with colleagues within the construction team.
The successful candidate will be well placed to share in the future growth of the firm's construction practice. There is every potential and encouragement for rapid career progression.
Main Purpose of the Job
• Within the existing construction team to look after the construction and construction related requirements of the firm's clients.
• To contribute to the firm's knowledge and expertise in the construction sector.
• To contribute to the efforts to grow the firm's construction practice.
Key Tasks and Duties
• Advising clients on legal issues pertaining to their construction business.
• Drafting, amending and negotiating construction contracts and ancillary documentation.
• Contentious/disputes work if desired.
• Developing a sound understanding of principles and issues in construction related legal matters.
• We will encourage you to improve your business development skills in order to help achieve the aspirations of the firm in the construction sector.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• A sound academic background
• Enthusiasm for working within the construction sector.
• A commitment to developing the construction and the firm's wider practice.
• Ideally, the candidate will have non-contentious experience but outstanding candidates from any background will be considered.
