To provide in-depth, technical legal knowledge and the promotion of know-how across the practice area of construction law, including:

Contentious construction
Commercial construction
Construction industry sectors including development (office, retail, residential, leisure and industrial) and engineering, both domestically and, where appropriate, internationally.
The Construction and Engineering team is based in London and Sheffield and the role is to facilitate and promote know-how across both offices.

Additionally to work with the Head of Knowledge and the Development Team on firm wide training and development matters.

Key Accountabilities

Analyse legal developments (over and above the analysis provided by online systems including PLC) in order to identify and communicate impact to the group.
Assist with technical legal questions and apply legal expertise in a commercial way.
Perform comprehensive research.
Regularly consult with Partners and fee earners to obtain relevant know-how from recent work.
Produce and amend practice notes and precedents and ensure that these reflect legal changes.
Draft material for and deliver agreed internal training programmes.
Attend and where necessary facilitate knowledge-sharing workshops and ensure that all relevant know-how is recorded and circulated appropriately.
Liaise with the Knowledge Services team to ensure the successful cataloguing of know-how.
Ensure regular contact with other Knowledge Lawyers within the firm.
Assist Head of Knowledge on firm-wide technical training issues with the aim of delivering technical training appropriate to fee earner needs in terms of both content and delivery method.
Work in conjunction with the Development Centre team in order to contribute to firm-wide soft skills learning and development initiatives.
