Contentious IP/Life Sciences – PARTNER/TEAM – To £600,000
Contentious IP/Life Sciences – PARTNER/TEAM – To £600,000 - Job Description
This national firm's IP practice is without doubt, its shiniest trophy, making up a decent portion of the firm's revenue and on course to post good growth results again this year. In recent times it has dominated the patents court and been involved in two major, ‘bet-the-company' type disputes. Despite a generally gloomy economic outlook, the firm sees contentious hard IP as a relatively recession proof area, with most large companies still up and ready to fight against patent infringement.
The firm seeks to build upon its IP disputes offering and its polished non-contentious life sciences arm with a leading partner or partner designate level patent litigation lawyer to handle a broad range of contentious work relating to pharmaceutical and biotechnology products. The ideal candidate will have a science/technical background with a demonstrable track record in life sciences work and the firm would welcome the opportunity to speak with a partner/s as well as any accompanying associates, an indicator of the appetite for growing this area in a market where competitors are increasingly crossing each other's territories and where traditional sector boundaries are being eroded.
A keenness to work alongside a stellar team in developing the European/international profile of the practice and a developed track record of establishing and building relationships will enable you to take full advantage of an international and domestic client base that is the envy of larger practices. This group, relatively young in terms of the length of its tenure in the directories, has the bigger players looking over their shoulders.
