In order to establish its presence in London this US firm grabbed a team from a close competitor. Given the success that team enjoyed, short-listed for US firm of the Year within two years and winning the award at the end of the third, there should be no reason why they can't repeat the performance. Indeed, such is the focus of the key individuals they are not going to build carbon copy of the previous practice but have refined the business model to take even more advantage of the myriad of core funds (private equity/hedge/carbon etc) and asset management clients they act for. In addition, the new brand's NY heritage, will assist far more in leveraging work from its institutionalised relationships with leading US investment banks. A key US partner has already moved to London to assist this process. This is not a UK firm in US clothing!

The ideal candidates for the roles are likely to be at a magic/silver circle or other US firms, have solid transaction or formation experience and be looking for a move to a smaller team where they can gain more autonomy, client contact and commercial bias to their workload as well as a significant increase in remuneration. The firm definitely does not fit the aggressive stereotype and offers a collegiate, balanced and actually fun environment. The work is high quality, international and generally complex.
