Regulatory/Corporate Defence lawyer

Well regarded commercial firm is seeking an experienced regulatory lawyer of between 3 and 6 years PQE to join their Corporate Defence and Regulatory team. In addition to qualified lawyers undertaking Regulatory work, our client will also consider barristers with experience in this area of law.
The successful candidate will ideally have gained experience in a good commercial practice. Ideally, you will have a mixed regulatory background with experience in a number of the following areas: health & safety, contentious environment, product safety, trading standards and food safety. Candidates must be technically excellent but, equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development. Marketing and business development will also be an essential part of the role. You will be a team player with a strong client focussed approach.

When enforcement action is taken by regulators the teams’ clients need clear practical advice. Therefore they need someone who can advise on technical points of law, attend sites during a "dawn raid" or an inspection by an enforcement authority, sit in during a PACE interview, represent clients in court, attend a Coroner's inquest or undertake client training.
Our client has a broad and diverse client base operating varied markets. As a result you will come into contact with a wide variety of regulators .This includes the HSE, the Environment Agency, Trading Standards departments the FSA, the DTI etc. Clients include major supermarkets as well as familiar names involved in manufacturing ,construction and food processing. They also act for some government departments and a number of care home
