Director- Legal/ In- House Lawyer/ Solicitor/ Niche Biotech/ Life Science/ Pharma Company- 3+ PQE

US based pharma company is looking to appoint an in-house lawyer/ solicitor to act as Director of Legal, working on general commercial matters on a global basis.

The Director of Legal will be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh and will report directly in to the Global Head of Legal, based in the US. Specifically you will:

•Advise on company law, negotiating and drafting commercial contracts and have the ability to provide proactive, commercial and practical support to the business.

•You will have the ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast paced, varied environment. The lawyer will be expected to be hands-on and team oriented, while at the same time able to perform without undue supervision.

•Work closely with the General Counsel on all company law matters; in particular, ensure that all corporate housekeeping matters for the U.K. subsidiaries are in order.

•Provide commercial contract support to our contracts negotiation team (comprised of non-lawyers).

•Gain a good understanding of the key drivers of our business in order to counsel the company's managers on the day-to-day legal issues that arise. You also will need attention to detail together with a strong drive to complete tasks and deliver to promise.
