Energy & Resources Lawyers - Brisbane, Australia: 2 - 3 years - Job Description

We are always seeking top quality lawyers to join our growing specialist Energy & Resources team, which boasts some of the countries most pre-eminent lawyers working for many of the major players in this booming industry sector.

Assisting across this 17 lawyer team, alongside partners Denis Gately, Mark Carkeet, Simon Scott and Allison Warburton, you will enjoy learning from experts in the field and growing your career within a busy and highly successful practice group. Opportunities to expand your industry knowledge are endless with weekly meetings to enhance your technical skills and discuss projects, workloads and marketing opportunities to ensure that you get the most out of your career with us.

Our team is involved in a wide variety of matters such as:

- advice on major electricity, gas and co generation projects throughout Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia
- advice on supply, transmission and hedging agreements as well as regulatory and access issues
- mergers, acquisitions and financing of infrastructure, mining and exploration assets
- engineering, procurement and construction contracts
- applications for and transfers of exploration and mining tenements
- negotiation and preparation of joint venture and management/operating agreements
- advice on renewable energy projects and greenhouse gas abatement issues.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a 2 - 4 year lawyer to grow with our team. You will have carriage of your own matters with assistance from our partners and senior lawyers, as you provide advice on M&A, major projects, regulatory and corporate issues across the Energy & Resources industry.

You will have a keen interest to develop your specialist knowledge in this area, a good eye for detail, demonstrated superior drafting skills and a confident yet down to earth approach.
