European restructuring and distressed investments group - German qualified

We are currently looking for a German qualified lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) to join a team of German, US and English lawyers working out of our London office. As part of our European Restructuring and Distressed Investments Group the team advises London based international investment banks and hedge funds on their investments in Germany. There are currently 2 partners, 5 associates and 2 trainees in this team in London. The team works closely with the Munich and Frankfurt offices. The work involves a diverse range of investments stretching from commercial real estate funds and debt to distressed corporate debt and turnaround financing as well as private equity business acquisitions out of distressed situations.

You would act on the acquisition, the financing and the resolution as well as divestiture of distressed businesses and assets. You would be expected to manage projects that have been assigned to you, liaise with clients, counterparties and other advisers. You would be working as part of a committed and inspired friendly team that enjoys its work and considers itself a leader in its field of practice. All members of the team have frequent client contact and must be willing to travel.

Essential skills

- Experience in transactional management with a reputable German or international firm.
- Good academic qualifications.
- A knowledge/background of insolvency and/or company law and/or banking or real estate.
- Experience working, studying or living in an English speaking environment.
- Enthusiasm for intellectually stimulating cross-border work.
