A top tier West End law firm who provide a high quality legal services to organisations and individuals, particularly media and entertainment, are looking for an employment locum to start July 2008 to cover a partner's maternity leave. The role requires a candidate who feels confident in acting for a broad range of clients. The role will include; advising both employers and employees on a wide range of matters including termination of employment of Senior Executives and negotiation of settlements; Employment Tribunal claims; reorganisations of companies and their staff (including advising on TUPE and collective redundancies); appointment of Senior Executives and negotiation of their contracts and preparation of pro forma contracts and employment policies and handbooks. The role will involves a mix of contentious and non-contentious work and require a candidate with a broad background in employment. The right candidate must also have; some practical corporate support experience to provide support to assistants in the team. The role requires a strong litigator to deal with tribunal claims and also a non-contentious background to advise particularly HR personnel by telephone and in writing on day to day issues. Clients are predominantly corporate clients within media but also may dealing with individuals.
