An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant to work as part of a team within the Finance Business team in the Corporate practice providing high quality administrative and financial support.
The successful applicant will report directly to the London Corporate Business Manager and work closely with another Assistant.
Requirements:
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written;
- Ability to collate, organise and format data from various sources;
- Strong Excel and macro skills, along with general IT skills;
- Good attention to detail;
- Previous experience working within a financial environment preferred;
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and multi task;
- Mature, confidential and flexible approach;
- Enthusiastic and self motivated;
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
- Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines;
- Experience in forecasting and analysis in a legal or professional services environment;
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial data;
- Ability to develop and maintain financial and operational systems and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Running, distributing and monitoring Global/London busyness reports and dealing with any queries that arise;
- Providing support and assistance to the Global Corporate Business Manager;
- Assisting in the production of weekly financial updates for the management team and Corporate Partners;
- Assisting in the preparation of various weekly and monthly financial reports including cost control;
- Liaising with Central Finance;
- Monitoring missing timesheets;
- Providing support to the team for one-off projects;
- Dealing with ad hoc requests for financial information from Partners and the Business Development team;
- Heavy liaison with HR, Business Development, Finance, fee earners and PAs.
Who we are looking for:
- Articulate and numerate candidate with a keen eye for detail;
- 5 GCSE's at grade C and/or above including Maths/Accounting and English;
- A-Levels or equivalent;
- Part Qualified
