The financial institutions group is well known as a leader in this field, for example, having won the "insurance firm of the year" award at the recent Who's Who legal awards.
The Investment Fund team within the group advises on all aspects of investment funds and pooled investment, from the initial structuring of a vehicle, to the legal, regulatory and tax aspects of establishing a fund and then on an ongoing basis advising in relation to its operation and promotion. The team is particularly well known for its expertise across a wide range of investment products. Work includes both retail and institutional products, both onshore and offshore products and open and closed ended funds. We set up funds in the UK and other EU jurisdictions such as Luxembourg and Ireland, and in offshore centres such as Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and the Channel Islands. We are involved in funds investing in equities in both developed and developing markets, and funds investing in private equity, projects and PFI and commodities, real estate, debt, and other asset classes. We are also very active in the hedge fund sector. The group also handles investment trust work and other listed funds.
Due to significant growth, we are looking to recruit an additional lawyer, approximately 2-4 yrs PQE or similar experience, to join the investment fund team.
