Our client, a publicly listed asset manager with offices in a number of global locations, is currently looking to recruit an additional Legal Counsel to join its Legal Department in London. The successful candidate will be the primary legal support for the hedge fund business, which consists of two segments (i) a Global Macro Hedge Fund (hybrid) and (ii) an Illiquid Trading Hedge Fund.
The majority of your day-to-day responsibilities will be with respect to providing legal advice and support to the illiquid trading hedge fund. This hedge fund has an FSA registration.
The macro fund will account for approximately 20-30 % of responsibilities. Key accountabilities with regard to this business will include controlling and mimimising legal risk.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor who is currently working within a leading law firm or a relevant financial services organisation and will have solid experience of working for or with a hedge fund business.
You will possess a strong in-house sensibility and be open to new challenges.
