About you:
We are looking for an experienced Information Analyst to join our Applied Legal Technology ("ALT") team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Applied Legal Technology Manager, you will be responsible for providing technology and information management consulting services to the firm's lawyers and their clients in the Melbourne office.
You will be dedicated, proactive and able to provide excellent customer service and support to internal and external clients. Your strong interest in marketing and training legal staff in leading edge technology and the firm's best practices will ensure the enhancement of the legal services provided by the practice teams to their clients and will assist with document management of intensive and complex matters.
Your primary focus will be on providing on-line data room services and general support to all Applied Legal Technology service lines.
Your day will involve:
- recording and submitting timesheets
- providing accurate time and cost estimates for new projects and generating fees
- managing the outsourcing of tasks and monitoring and instructing paralegals assisting on tasks to ensure work is produced correctly and efficiently
- creating, writing and documenting procedures
- providing advice and educating the legal teams and other team members in relation to technology solutions and the efficient use of information management software and hard copy files
- managing the expectations of clients and colleagues
- assisting with the collection, management and processing of hard copy and electronic information
- preparing strategies, project plans and budgets to manage documents and information for litigation and corporate matters (including for discovery an trial preparation)
- attending and contributing to ALT team meetings, practice group meetings and educational sessions.
You will have:
- degree qualifications in law, legal studies, computer science, information technology or similar
- experience supporting corporate and litigious matters including using virtual data room software
- excellent prioritisation, attention to detail and project management skills including the ability to work under pressure at a high standard
- sound knowledge of databases, web technology, windows environment, legal processes (including litigation processes) and document management concepts
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- good supervisory and delegation skills including the ability to take responsibility
- a flexible nature in regards to travel and extended working hours from time to time
- the ability to build positive relationships with internal clients and other team members.
You will have previous experience working within a similar legal, technology or litigation support environment and your knowledge around firm practices and ability to keep up to date with technology and changes within the firm will ensure your success in this role.
