Insurance Litigation Lawyer - Job Description
Our client is a well established and recognized mid-tier law firm who is a major player in the insurance litigation arena. Due to the continued growth of the team, a position for a second year insurance lawyer has arisen.
Working with two key partners you will undertake a range of responsibilities which will include attending court appearances including direction hearings, callovers, mediations and liaising with counsel at trial and key expert witnesses. In addition you will be responsible for preparing written advice to major insurer clients, drafting and compiling interlocutory steps including discovery and answers to interrogatories, briefing barristers and preparing briefs for courts and liaising with counsel, clients, solicitors and other parties.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year’s insurance litigation experience with a preference on public liability. You will have gained experience in a mid to top year law firm, have strong writing skills, knowledge of the Wrongs Act section 138 of the Accident Compensation Act, be well organised, effective at time management and display strong research skills.
