Intellectual Property lawyer - Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Intellectual Property lawyer with 2 - 5 years PQE gained within a strong commercial firm to undertake the full range of IP work based in our clients Newcastle office. The IP team sits within the overall Commercial team.
The mix of work will be both contentious and non-contentious and the role will involve advising clients on the protection, exploitation and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
The team regularly advises clients on:-
Brands, advising on their development, management and protection;
Technology issues, advising universities, "spin out" businesses and industry on complex agreements such as patent licences and R & D agreements, as well as advising clients on patent infringement proceedings;
Life sciences, advising businesses involved in the biotechnology sector;
Chemicals, advising multi-national chemicals manufacturers;
Copyright, advising on issues such as subsistence, ownership, licensing and infringement;
Registered and unregistered designs, advising on exploitation and infringement issues; and
Know-how and confidential information, advising on their protection.
As part of a small but growing team, you will also be required to play a significant role in business development.
