International Finance - Capital Markets - Job Description
The securities and structured finance group is one of three sub-groups within the International Finance Department, the others being leveraged finance and projects and real estate finance. Within the SSF group there are two broad practice areas. The Structured practice area involving CDO's, structured derivatives and securitisation; and the non-structured practice area involving general capital markets such as Eurobonds, medium term note programmes, equity linked notes and trustee representation.

Close interaction with the banking and corporate groups in our European and Overseas offices
What type of work does the department do
Ashurst has a substantial banking and securities capability. The international finance practice area provides expert advice on a wide range of banking and securities related transactions.
A substantial proportion of the non-structured practice area's work is of an international nature. The firm acts for leading international investment and commercial banks as well as for substantial corporate borrowers and issuers as well as other market participants such as trustees and monoline insurers.
Some examples of the type of work the candidate will do
The successful candidate will assist the partners on transactions in the non-structured capital markets area, for example, stand alone bond issues, MTN programmes and drawdowns, high yield and project bonds as well as acting for bond trustees and on corporate treasury support.
Who are the main clients
Major corporates (Reuters, Rothschilds, Sumitomo), investment banks (Lehmans) and corporate trustees (Deutche, J P Morgan and BoNY).
