Our client is one of only a handful of law firms Pre-eminent in insurance and reinsurance litigation, advising on everything from straightforward claims to catastrophes, property, construction, casualty, liability, reinsurance, financial institutions, financial risks and markets, finite risks, captives, and more. They have a profound knowledge of the workings of the Lloyd's and international insurance markets and of their players including multi-national companies, underwriting agents, brokers, intermediaries, risk managers, run-off companies, captive managers, and a range of other specialist providers.

Our client is naturally familiar with the regulatory requirements of the UK, Spanish, Mexican and Latin-American jurisdiction, but also up to speed with the internationally regulatory status quo generally, as well as having one of the biggest insurance litigation practises in the City of London and, according to Legal 500 and Expansion, the leading law practise in Spain, with over 80 dedicated specialists across the broad spectrum of insurance and reinsurance.

With their increasingly Latin American focus, this international firm is looking to recruit a Brazilian lawyer preferably, to join their international insurance and reinsurance practise. Ideal candidates may be qualified in Brazil, the UK or both, ideally have experience advising on large international insurance and reinsurance claims, and have commercial and insurance experience, however this is not a prerequisite. A willingness to travel to Brazil on leading projects and arbitration's would be favourable.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

•Strong academics/ intellect
•May have a min of 2 years relevant UK jurisdiction experience
•Evidence of business development/ marketing skills
•Strong relationship-building track record with clients in different jurisdictions
•Fluent in Portuguese and English

The successful candidate will work for insurers and re-insurers on Latin American disputes relating to:

•Major infrastructure projects, particularly in the energy sector
•Financial institutions and bankers blanket bonds (BBB)
•War and political risks, and terrorist attacks
•Major disasters and incidents
•Property, construction and engineering projects
•Product liability issues
