Investment Funds Associate - Corporate

Ashurst is looking for solicitors to join their high profile and fast-growing international Investment Funds Group based in London. Candidates do not need previous funds experience but should have a corporate, finance or other similar background.

Ashurst will offer the right candidate full support and training within the Funds team.

The succesful candidate will be reporting to The Investment Funds Group partners.

Main tasks

Ashurst's Investment Funds Group is a leading international investment funds practice, advising on the formation of funds throughout Europe (including the Nordic region), the Middle East and North Africa and the Far East. Accordingly the group works closely with Ashurst offices outside London, as well as the taxation, international finance, employment, real estate, M&A and private equity transactional teams in London.

The Group advises on the establishment of a very broad range of funds across the private equity, venture capital, mezzanine, real estate and infrastructure sectors as well as special-purpose funds. The Group's clients include leading fund managers: for example, it has acted for Cinven on the formation of all of its buyout funds and for ICG on all of its mezzanine funds.

The Group also advises clients investing into such funds, and advises fund managers on carried interest and co-investment arrangements.

The practice area is exciting, varied and fast moving with excellent prospects for strong candidates. The role offers exposure to senior management within private equity firms and other fund managers, and provides both technical challenges and direct involvement in intense commercial negotiations.

Essential skills

Candidates should have corporate, finance or other similar experience at a major City or regional law firm. Candidates should be out-going, enthusiastic and well-rounded. They should be able to demonstrate strong analytical and drafting skills as well as experience of, and a willingness to be involved in, commercial negotiation. A flair for international work is an advantage.
