Lawyers (2 vacancies), Projects, Engineering and Construction (Non-Contentious)

We are seeking to recruit two lawyers to undertake project finance (including PFI and PPP) and non-contentious construction work.

OUR WORK AND YOUR ROLE

International outlook: Working within a firm with a truly international outlook and presence our team helps our clients to deliver projects, whether they are procured on a project finance or traditional basis.

A Leading Projects Team: Our project finance team has acted on 1/3 of all PFI/PPP deals (by capital value) to reach financial close. Our construction team is one of the longest established of any of the major city firms. An entrepreneurial market facing attitude is essential; our team generates its own clients and business. We are not merely a support group to other "core" areas of the firm.

Client and Industry sectors: We work for major corporate sponsors (contractors and service providers), the debt and equity markets and Governments and other public sector bodies. Our work regularly involves all the major industry sectors such as transport (roads, rail, ports and airports); accommodation (Government accommodation, courts and prisons); retail and leisure; healthcare; water; energy and other general infrastructure.

Core construction skills: As a construction specialist within our project finance team you will:

• Continually develop your project finance skills, working with other Team members on the corporate and finance side. As well as dealing with construction and services aspects, you will also be expected to advise on concession/project agreement issues and subcontracts, with a view to developing a deal leading role.

• Maintain and enhance your core construction law specialism. Beyond project finance matters, you will be expected to advise on international and domestic construction and services contracts (increasingly based on novel and complex arrangements) and maintain market expertise on the range of areas (standard forms, bonds, guarantees, collateral warranties) associated with more traditional procurements.

We currently have vacancies for two lawyers of more than one year's qualification (or equivalent) with experience of non-contentious construction and project finance/PFI/PPP projects.
