As part of the General Counsel Team, the role will advise the organisation on a range of commercial contracts including outsourcing arrangements and provide specialist input on Data Protection and Intellectual Property issues.

Key responsibilities

Reviewing/drafting/negotiating commercial agreements entered into with suppliers; providing legal support to the organisation in respect of third party contractual/outsourcing arrangements.

Providing data protection advice to the organisation, including the following: statutory requirements, data transfer agreements, breaches of the Data Protection Act

Advising on the terms of client agreements in relation to data protection, IP, confidentiality and liability provisions.

Skills and experience

You will be a qualified Solicitor with either an in-house background or solid experience in a commercial law firm. You will possess excellent drafting skills and specialised knowledge and application of data protection law. Although IP knowledge would be beneficial it is not a specific requirement for the role.

You will have outstanding customer facing skills coupled with an attention to detail. You will have a proven track record of being able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in an environment laced with a wide variety of challenges and unexpected interruptions
