Debenhams is styling the nation, rolling out new concept stores and working with some of the world’s top designers. This is an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal & Secretariat team based in our Central London Head Office. With us you’ll encounter a huge variety of challenges but within normal office hours rarely found in the legal world.

You’ll be involved in:

• Reviewing and advising on the Company's advertising, promotional and marketing material for in-store, website, direct mail and the media. This will include drafting and reviewing associated contractual documentation and dealing with any related trading standards and contentious issues.

• Dealing with IT, consumer credit, personal finance and general commercial contractual matters.

• Dealing with Data Protections compliance issues

As a fully qualified Solicitor you’re looking for a new challenge. This role would be ideal for someone keen to improve their work/life balance as we offer a 9am-5pm role in a busy, friendly team. It is essential that you have experience of Data Protection, Financial Services and IT software contracts and agreements. In-house experience is desirable but not essential. You can demonstrate a commercial outlook to solving legal issues and the ability to manage your workflow as well as adapting your communication skills to suit any audience.
