This is an excellent opportunity to work within the NHS to assist project managing the successful review and implementation of processes for handling complaints, claims and incident investigation processes. This will include the investigation of complex incidents, complaints and claims within the Trust, including the management of specific case files, to ensure that, where possible, lessons are learnt for the benefit of future patients and staff.
Planning the investigation of complex Healthcare Commission complaints, liaising with the Healthcare Commission, Ombudsman and HM Coroner.
This will involve management of complex investigations involving Coroners Inquests, claims and incidents which may include the conduct of specific cases, in accordance with the NHS Litigation Authority requirements.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a library of information on litigation handling.
Other duties will involve planning, co-ordinating and managing the Insurance arrangements for the Trust. This requires keeping abreast of the various insurance arrangements, identifying and obtaining support and advice from Insurance Brokers and Trust solicitors.
This is a temporary post intitially for a period of 6 months, will may have the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
A legal or investigations background within the NHS would be an advantage, however applications will also be considered from candidates with a background within legal social services, personal injury or litigation.
