Set up in 2003, LAW Absolute specialises in the recruitment of lawyers on a interim basis. Whilst our business is relatively new, our recruiters are not. Our Directors have not only headed up, but set up the Contracting Businesses for some major competitors before creating LAW Absolute - for a new person joining, we can genuinely say we have more experience in this area than anyone else in the industry.
This, coupled with the fact we are the only Consultancy in the UK to specialise in interim recruitment alone has meant we have been able to become a market leader in this area in a very short space of time. We recruit across all sectors - in-house, private practice and the public sector - and nationwide - and we need consultants in all these areas.
We take interim recruitment seriously - and are looking for people to join our business that feel the same way. We don't see it as a bolt on to permanent recruitment nor do we look at it as an afterthought. We set up to do interim recruitment as this was our the area of expertise and our aim is to be master of one trade not jack of all.
Historically, there was perhaps, sometimes a stigma attached to being an interim lawyer but this is no longer the case. In fact, it is frequently an intentional career path taken by many lawyers from all sectors. Equally it is now universally recognised that interim recruitment is every bit as rewarding and demanding as filling permanent roles.
There has also been some misunderstanding as to how interim recruitment works. Why? Who knows...The concept is the same - it just requires a slightly different skill set. Interim recruiters tend to operate within a faster paced environment and because of the speed with which we have to work, our business requires genuine team players and multi taskers. It also requires a high level of relationship building and constant maintenance of those relationships - it is a misconception that this is not so important in interim recruitment - in fact, it is probably more so because the service a client or candidates receives from us will determine whether they come back to us the next time they are looking for work or recruiting again.

Our recruiters are made up of ex lawyers, consultants with previous recruitment experience (both in the legal sector and other areas and with both permanent and temporary recruitment backgrounds) and individuals with previous careers in other industries such as accountancy and teaching.
The package we offer is excellent. As an interim business, there is constant revenue generated by the money we make on an ongoing basis from the candidates working through us - so there is not the worry of starting from scratch (financially) every month. In addition, our hours are very good (9 - 5.30pm and 9 - 5 on a Friday with a half day on a Friday once a month for everyone), we offer 25 days holiday excluding the time we are closed between Christmas and New Year), an excellent commission package and a team environment that we believe is second to none.
