Legal Risk Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen within a leading Lancashire legal practice recognised as one of the UK's top law firms for a Legal Risk Manager, to ensure that the firm is achieving best practice consistently in all areas of operational risk, dealing effectively with compliance and regulatory issues.

Key areas of responsibility:

1. Responsibilty for ensuring compliance with all relevant bodies - eg SRA, LSC, Lexcel etc.

2. Devising an audit/risk programme.

3. Facilitating risk identififcation/assessment and educating staff in risk management and internal control.

4. Conducting planned yearly and emergency audits.

5. Auditing independent files across all sectors of the firm.

6. Liasing with outside personnel ranging from Lexcel auditors to corporate clients.

7. Co-ordinating risk reporting to the board.

8. Providing advice and assistance to fee earners on compliance and professional conduct.

The successful candidate will ideally be legally qualified, possessing an influential personality with the ability to drive the compliance objective, whilst retaining a business and commercial perspective.

Adaptable, flexible, IT literate and capable of working to deadlines, you must have the desire to progress within a friendly yet commercial and forward thinking firm.
