Candidate Profile
You should have legal experience within a commercial legal practice and be capable of working to a high standard. Additionally, you should have sound administrative and legal billing experience.
Effective communication and prioritisation skills are essential, as is the ability to provide excellent and flexible cover to your colleagues.
Secretarial Duties
• Typing (audio and copy) of legal correspondence and documents
• File management. Ensuring that all files are up to date, including file opening, archiving and structure of paper files.
• Liaising with internal and external clients.
• Undertaking all associated administrative tasks including diary management, legal billing (manual and automated)
• Administration of Solcase ensuring that client data and reporting information is maintained accurately and timely
• Any other duties commensurate with the job role as reasonably requested by your supervisor
Technical Ability
• Excellent IT skills and experience of using a case management system is essential
• Experience of digital dictation systems is desirable
• Must have expert legal billing experience (manual and automated)

• Flexible approach to work and prioritisation required for this role being able to accommodate all lawyers’ workload and requirements
• Effective communication skills are essential for this role as is the ability to develop a sound working relationship with your part time secretarial work colleague to gain an understanding of all work types
• Good teamworking spirit
• Good administrative & organisational skills and the ability to carry these out unsupervised and using own initiative
• Must be able to maintain high standard of attention to detail in all aspects of the job
• Flexible approach to work and working hours, and able to work outside of office hours if required in relation to urgent work
