BD MANAGER - EUROPE

An exciting opportunity has arisen at a vibrant and expanding US law firm for a regional Business Development & Marketing Manager role in Europe. Based in London and reporting to the Senior BD Manager – Asia & Europe, this position is responsible for directly managing a team of three to four BD professionals based in their European offices, to appropriately execute the firm’s global BD and marketing approach and strategy as it applies to the practice areas and/or offices within the region.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Overall management of all the BD and marketing activities for existing practice groups and the European offices;
• Building up the European BD team and resources, providing strong leadership and guidance;
• Facilitating the implementation of the firm’s global key client program in Europe, including coaching and managing client focused teams;
• Working with the relevant office chairs and the practice groups to formulate and implement business and marketing plans;
• Working closely with senior BD management to develop and implement cross-selling opportunities with the U.S. and Asian practices;
• Overseeing and developing the pitch and proposal process for the region, including leading significant strategic pitches as necessary;
• Overseeing the development of internal and external marketing communications in collaboration with the global Marcoms team, including the production of market appropriate materials and website development;
• Working with the global PR Director and regional PR Manager to develop a regional PR plan and subsequent profile-raising initiatives;
• Strategically planning seminars, events, promotional materials for both specific departments and offices, and select strategic marketing initiatives;
• Collaborating with the European office chairs and senior BD management in preparing and monitoring budgets for the region.
Candidates will be degree qualified and have an excellent track record in roles with an emphasis on business development and marketing. This must also include significant people management experience. Prior professional services/law firm is also essential.
