Marketing & Business Development Executive - Job Description

This is a role appropriate for a Marketing Executive with two to three years marketing experience wishing to work alongside an ambitious and experienced team. The roles has scope for involvement in a range of marketing and business development activities
Job Purpose:

The role will report to the Marketing & Business Development Director and work closely with the M&BD team to
· Implement the Firm-wide and Group Marketing Plans
· Ensure timely delivery and budgetary control of assigned activities
· Provide input and support in the development of marketing plans.


Principle Responsibilities:

Insight:
· To have an understanding of IBB’s business opportunities and demonstrate how marketing activities support these
· To have an understand of IBB’s principle markets and provide insight, ideas and opinions on how IBB can best take advantage of industry/regional/legal opportunities in these markets
· Understand IBB’s brand positioning and values, and ensure all marketing activities reflect this
· To understand IBB’s priority targets and key accounts in order to generate and manage marketing and business development campaigns that support these
· To understand competitor activity and provide recommendations as to how this may effect the success of marketing activities
· In conjunction with the M&BD team develop and implement marketing campaigns and projects

Project Management:
· To liaise directly and build relationships with stakeholders in the business for effective implementation of activities
· To build relationships with internal Business Support Group (BSG) teams and resources and ensure effective utilisation of their services to support the marketing and business development objectives
· To be the day to day contact with internal and external teams to ensure co-ordination and execution of activities such as brochure production, website and event management
· To monitor and manage the budget and process invoices for specific marketing activities
· To manage own targets on the CRM and promote its use internally
· To agree and monitor KPIs with the M&BD team for each activity within the campaign and or projects and ensure this is recorded and reported
· To regularly update the M&BD team on progress against plan

Marketing and Business Development:
· Project manage major campaigns with the support of the M&BD team, to have sole responsibility for project management of own campaigns and activities within campaigns
· Edit and manage the distribution of e-mail newsletters to clients and prospects
· Project manage the creation and production of the Firm’s internal newsletter
· Provide support for the Events Manager in the smooth implementation of client events
· Give guidance and support to fee earners on the drafting of articles, press releases and presentations, and other media
· Personally draft copy for marketing collateral in support of the team
· Collate information for and produce firm literature in line with marketing plans
· Support the administration of the IBB client survey
· Ensure materials and handouts produced adhere to the IBB Brand
· Research target companies, sectors and markets in support of business development
· Ensure that the information held on IBB website and external sites is up-to-date, accurate and consistent with the IBB Brand.

· Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
· High level of visual accuracy, attention to detail and interest in a variety of media.
· Enthusiasm for marketing activities in general and client service in particular
· A “can do” attitude, resilience and a sense of fun

Competencies:
· Technical marketing skills
· Strong project management skills
· Communication skills

Experience required:
· Two to three years marketing experience
· Experience in the full marketing mix
· Experience at managing activities targeted toward senior business audience and private individuals
· Budget control
· Basic to good understanding of the legal profession is a prerequisite

Education:
· Degree educated – preferably in marketing
· CIM Preferred
