National Communications Director - Sydney or Melbourne Australia

Minter Ellison is an Australian-based international law firm with more than 270 partners and 1,000 lawyers and 1,000 support staff working throughout Australia and in Hong Kong, The People's Republic of China, Indonesia, New Zealand and the UK. Our firm supports leading industry and government clients.

A fantastic opportunity exists for a National Communications Director to develop and implement our communications strategy, with particular focus on consistency across communication channels. This challenging, broad based and rewarding role will involve a large degree of responsibility and autonomy as you:

- manage our communications team of 8 staff;
- seek, secure and optimise profiling opportunities with other stakeholders;
- promote and protect the Minter Ellison brand;
- develop and align our key messages, particularly around differentiation;
- coach our partners on the development of 'thought leadership'; and
- manage and ensure consistent implementation of all communication disciplines such as media relations, survey submissions, internal communications, issues management, visual identity, graphic design, client communications and online tools.

- at least 10 years experience in a corporate communications environment. Ideally, you will have experience working within a partnership structure for a professional services firm;
demonstrated ability to coach and lead others;
- solid network of contacts within the business media;
- strong influencing skills and experience in advising senior professionals; and
- outstanding writing and editing skills and a close attention to detail. You will be innovative, commercial and results driven.

A top market rate salary, relocation package and sponsorship is negotiable for the right applicant. This is a national role, based in either Melbourne or Sydney. You must be willing and able to travel across our East Coast offices (Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane).
