Group/Team Structure:
Tax and Estate Planning team forms part of the Private Business Group, headed by David Woodward.
The Private Business Group currently is approximately 23 people strong in London and Bristol. It compromises the Tax & Estate Planning team and the Family Team: the Family Team is consistently rated in the top tier in the South West by the Legal 500. The group works closely with a specialist residential conveyancing team, headed by Partner Peter Kimpton. The Tax & Estate Planning team have significant experience in trust administration, capital taxes, trust and estate planning, and probate. Work sources are internal: strong corporate, commercial services and pensions teams, amongst others . Externally, referrers include the Bar, the Judiciary, accountants, Wealth Managers, private banks.
'This specialist tax and estate planning team is part of the firm’s private business group, which is headed by David Woodward. The team is “one of the best in Bristol,” according to one client. The team has a strong local client base but the opening of a London office has increased the volume of its international work. Its clients include a number of high net worth individuals requiring offshore and foreign jurisdictional advice, and several high-profile media figures including sports and television personalities. The group has its own dedicated tax team and handles all aspects of estates, trusts, wills and powers of attorneys.'

The team acts for wealthy, local, UK and international individuals on tax, estate planning and associated matters. In addition, the team advises private overseas banks and IFAs. Non-domiciliary estate planning opportunities are provided by London office contacts, and the team advise high net worth individuals in a wide spectrum of jurisdictions.
Trust and probate work involves complex jurisdictional issues, includes advice on Independent Living Trusts. The team is supported by a dedicated firm-wide tax team headed by partner Philip Alfandary.

The Role:
Partner to join existing Tax & Estate Planning team, developing and initiating new business, refining and strengthening existing referrer and contact relationships with proven track record and some experience in management and supervision.
Projects and role include raising the profile of estate planning both internally and externally, to enhance and continue the focus on service and quality advice to clients and promote estate planning through business development activities together with the broader work of the team and the private business group. Business Development is supported specialists within the group and a dedicated Partner.
This represents a significant appointment for the firm.

Experience

 Trusts and Wills
 Capital taxes
 Personal taxation
 Estate planning
 Business succession planning
□ Experience of team working. Experience of providing excellent service levels to high net worth individuals.
