The role will provide an ideal opportunity for an individual looking to make a visible and rapid personal contribution to the department, with an eye to future career progression within the firm. Part-time secondment to one of our government body clients may be available.
Current clients include household names such as Arriva, British Energy and South East Water. FFW is also the legal adviser to Electricity Pensions Trustee Limited which is the Scheme Trustee of the £23bn. Electricity Supply Pension Scheme.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibilities will include advice on:
•scheme mergers
•wind- up of pensions schemes
•scheme documentation and up-dates
•employment law issues such as age discrimination
•application of surplus/deficit and asset protection
•personal pensions and stakeholder pensions
•creating and/or reviewing Broadly Comparable public sector schemes and specialist pension organisations (such as the Government Actuary’s Department, Pension Protection Fund and B & CE)
•pensions aspects of corporate transactions including outsourcing and public sector projects.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The successful candidate must have:
•strong academic background (ideally 2:1 or equivalent from a good university)
•excellent technical skills with good attention to detail
•minimum of 2 years PQE
•City- based work experience
•good interpersonal skills
•genuine desire to meet and exceed client expectations.
