Pensions PSL - Job Description
This new and challenging role will involve providing an award winning pensions team with a dedicated resource to develop, store and disseminate know-how, ensuring the provision of leading edge technical advice.
More specifically, the role will involve:
• Organising, updating and raising awareness of online knowledge management system
• Organising and chairing weekly communications meeting
• Organising training including regular training surgeries for junior lawyers
• Organising team away days on technical issues
• Preparation of briefing notes and liaison with marketing team
• Developing and managing relationships with pensions journalists
• Internal email updates to the team on latest technical developments
• Development and maintenance of precedent bank looking for cross-firm training opportunities
• Organising of, and some delivery at, Pensions Update seminars
• Day to day support to lawyers on technical issues
• Relationship manager for multipliers who ask for a technical input
• Development of relationships with people at DWP, tPR, PPF etc
• Attending conferences/industry body lectures and seminars
• Liaising with internal Professional Support Team
• Maintenance of library (both online and hard copy book library)
The successful applicant will need to have:
• Extensive pensions experience ideally gained in a regarded pensions department.
• Proven drafting and negotiation skills.
• A high degree of technical excellence in the field of pensions law.
• Experience of organising meetings, as well as co-ordinating, preparing and delivering briefings and training sessions.
• Experience of writing updates/Briefing notes.
• Some experience of managing financial budgets
