We are expanding internationally with the recent addition of branded offices in Germany, France and Belgium and a high focus on the US. Over a quarter of our revenues are international.
The Role
We wish to recruit a Postroom Assistant who will be responsible for the efficient collection and delivery of incoming and outgoing post, parcels & packages, sorting of mail and booking couriers.
Postroom Assistants report to the Postroom Supervisors, who will allocate and delegate specific tasks amongst the members of the team according to the needs and priorities of the business at any given time. Assistants are expected to provide general support and assistance to other staff in the multi-disciplinary facilities management team as may be required at times of peak activity.
Key Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Sort incoming and outgoing post (including DX) as it arrives so that it can be delivered to the correct recipients within target timescales.
Frank outgoing Royal Mail (RM) post and prepare DX and RM sacks for collection.
Deliver and collect post in accordance with set rounds to and from designated locations; make special/urgent collections and deliveries as required outside of normal rounds.
Process incoming faxes
Cheque signing runs
Process Recorded/Special Delivery items
Process all incoming and outgoing courier items and, where applicable, ensure items are available at the collection point(s) at the appointed time.
Organise and label trays/pigeon-holes in the Postroom to accommodate starters/leavers
Assist secretaries and other staff with lifting/moving of boxes and heavy items.
Collect photocopying/printed material from Reprographics Room and work from SSU and deliver as required to relevant staff during normal rounds.
Deal speedily and politely with all general enquiries, calls and complaints.
The above list is not exhaustive but gives a good reflection of the main tasks and duties of the role. The post holder is expected to be flexible and adaptable to meet the diverse needs to the FM Team and FFW business.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
Experience in a similar role would be an advantage but is not essential.

Fit and strong enough to lift and move heavy boxes or items
Other Information
The work will be on shifts which are arranged from 0700 to 1500 and 1100 to 1900, although these may be subject to change over time as the needs of the business change. Postroom Assistants are expected to work alternating shifts from week to week.
