Projects PSL - Job Description

We are looking to recruit an experienced professional support lawyer to provide know-how and professional support services to the Projects Group, which advises on energy and infrastructure, PFI/PPP and construction.

The successful candidate will be a qualified lawyer with significant experience as a practitioner in a leading international law firm. It is expected that the candidate will have outstanding training and communication skills bringing significant experience in delivering and presenting substantive technical legal training.

The role would include:
• Creating and delivering high quality technical legal training, coaching and mentoring to support the lawyers in the practice, especially for trainees and newly qualified lawyers.
• Monitoring relevant legal and market developments and keeping the practice group informed of those developments affecting the practice and it's clients.
• Drafting thought leadership pieces that can be used for client distribution and discussion with the press.
• Developing an effective knowledge sharing culture within the group.
• Contributing and managing relevant, high quality know-how for delivery via the know-how system.
• Ensuring that lawyers are able to access and find relevant know-how.
• Drafting and maintaining standard documents, practice notes and checklists.
• Participating in inter-firm events, professional conferences and raising the visibility of the firm and it's expertise.
• Providing high quality research services that support the transactional work of the practice.
• Liaising with information services staff to ensure procurement of appropriate online services, books, periodicals and journals.
• Participating in cross-practice and cross-sector working groups to facilitate effective knowledge sharing within the firm, in particular, liaising with the PSL team in London and across the international network.

Flexible working arrangements can be accommodated with this role, including the potential to work part-time and to provide coverage to the Environment and Safety team, subject to experience and interest.
Excellent academics are a pre-requisite, as is a highly motivated self-starting and team focused approach.
