Our client is a leading provider of food and beverage services in travel locations worldwide. They also have arrangements with widely-recognised third party brand owners to operate franchises in train stations, airports, motorway service stations and leisure locations. One of the busiest divisions of the business, which operates household name food and beverage outlets in mainline stations around the UK, has seen such an increased level of activity in recent times it now needs to appoint an additional lawyer to its small London-based legal team partly for the station workload and also for expansion into other markets. The individual will have a strong commercial property background and will work closely with the Legal Counsel on more general legal matters. Reporting to the Legal Counsel, you will work on a wide range of commercial property transactions relating to landlord and tenant matters such as standard and bespoke leases, high street leases, sub-leases and renewals. You will also work on more complex property contracts such as concessions and franchise agreements, and negotiations with leading UK corporates. Strong property transactional experience is essential in this role and ideally you will also have some more general commercial experience as well. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide commercial solutions to complex legal issues and be comfortable working alongside senior management. Strong negotiation and drafting skills are essential, as are exceptional interpersonal skills. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a global market leader where you will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and autonomy, as well as be given support and mentoring when you need it.
