Property Solicitor - 3 - 5 PQE - Newcastle

A vacancy has arisen in our Property department for a solicitor with 3 - 5 years PQE to join this well established and busy team.

The Housing Investment and Public Sector Development Team is the leading team in the North of England for public sector development and housing portfolio work. It is a busy and friendly team, with a strong work ethic and close links to other complementary service teams (such as corporate tax, construction and engineering and planning.

The team acts for many high profile clients including large property-owning private companies and plc's, housing associations or RSL's, Local Authorities and County Councils, NHS and Foundation Trusts and house builders engaged in public sector projects.

There is support and assistance from other Team members at all levels, and the job will enable the successful applicant to build on a wide and practical range of experience across the public and private sectors, with excellent career prospects.

Based in our Newcastle Trinity Gardens office, the team handles a wide variety of work and has a national reputation in its field. The work is genuinely national, and is usually multi-disciplinary with Team members working very closely with other teams in the firm. The role will offer a mixture of commercial and residential work.

Specific areas of the team's work includes sales and purchases of housing and mixed housing/commercial portfolios, acquisition of sites for development of housing, mergers and acquisitions of housing associations, development of sites for commercial and residential projects, regeneration projects, management of existing commercial lease portfolios on behalf of public sector clients and working with corporate teams to provide support for corporate acquisitions of property companies.

Thorough training gained within a City or regional firm and the desire and aptitude to undertake a wide range of challenging and varied work. Commercially aware and technically proficient, an ability to provide practical commercial solutions to a wide range of clients is essential for this role.

An interest in business development would be advantageous.
