Recruitment Sector Solicitor - Job Description
Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons is the leading adviser to the recruitment sector in the UK and internationally. We are experts in regulation of the sector, including tax regimes. We deal with status issues and employment rights in respect of temporary, contract or agency workers and self-employed consultants. We advise agencies on the legal, tax and commercial aspects of outsourcing and on business acquisition or disposal.
In practical terms, people in the team need to have a blend of expertise in: -
Outsourcing
Commercial contracts
Employment law
Income tax, VAT
Data protection
Immigration
Corporate law
The list may seem daunting but we will train up on the job and it is an excellent role for someone who wants to really understand a sector and be involved in an unusual breadth of legal work. You will also get lots of direct client contact.
Personal Qualities and skills
Proactive
Flexible
Confident and personable - able to place clients at ease and build rapport
A team player - willing to support others and not stand on their dignity
Experience in contracts, tax or employment matters (if more than one area so much the better)
Experience of working with the recruitment sector would be an advantage
Qualifications
