Securitisation Lawyers - 1-4 yrs' pqe - Paris - Job Description

Gide Loyrette Nouel is the leading full service law firm in France with over 70 partners and 400 lawyers working out of Paris and 12 offices world-wide.

The team currently consists of three partners and ten associates. Some of its members began their careers working within banks. All lawyers in the group are bilingual or fluent in English and French.

The team specialises in all types of asset backed securities and defeasance transactions and Gide Loyrette Nouel is one of the leading firms in France advising arrangers (including the most important French banking institutions and originators), in connection with both domestic and international transactions using securitisation mechanisms. The team participates in structuring all types of transactions concerning, among others, credit cards, consumer loans, mortgaged loans, corporate financing, trade receivables, leasing, bonds, local government loans, bad debt and property assets. It has a substantial documentation practice, drafting and negotiating agreements and transactional documentation.

We also participate in structuring complex transactions using securitisation mechanisms, including non consolidated financing, real estate portfolios purchasing, perpetual bonds repackaging, banking activities transfers, tax driven structures, structured finance, project financing, etc.

The team maintains close relations with the French authorities in the relevant sectors (including the French Treasury, the Banque de France and the Commission des Opérations de Bourse), and constantly advises the authorities with regards to potential adaptations of the legal framework of securitisation transactions.

We are currently looking for banking lawyers with 1-4 years experience for our Paris office. The work will be varied, challenging and international in nature and there will be opportunities for secondments overseas should you wish. The package will be highly competitive internationally and will include a relocation allowance. You will have a strong academic background, a good grounding in general banking work and be ready and will to try a different working environment that will significantly enhance your career prospects. As an expanding law firm, partnership is a real possibility. You will have knowledge of the French language but you do not necessarily need to be fluent. An English partner, for example, joined with only ‘A' level French as background but with a strong commitment to learn and is now fluent and called to the Paris Bar.

So why not send us your cv. This is an outstanding opportunity for non-French lawyers who wish to work in a challenging environment that will promote your professional and personal development. Alternatively, you might be a French lawyer who wishes to return to France. In either case, if you recognise yourself in the above description we would like to hear from you.
