Senior ISDA/Funds Lawyer - Job Description
The Company:
International Financial Services Organisation with Headquarters based in Dublin, Ireland
Purpose of Role:
To provide legal support to the Investment Division with particular focus on supporting investments in OTC derivatives of all funds facilitated by UCITS III;
Working from within the Investments Division develop best practice procedures for dealing with all types of derivative transaction.
Duties of the role:
Take custody of and responsibility for the negotiation of maintenance of all ISDA documentation governing the company’s investment activities;
Take responsibility for the company’s ISDA membership and the continuing education of the relevant investments, operations and legal staff on ISDA related matters;
Devise a best practice legal due diligence process for all ABS investments;
Take the lead on protecting our investments in the event of a default;
Work closely with Legal & Compliance & RISK in identifying and resolving legal RISK issues associated with our investment universe;
Support the company’s involvement in CDO transactions whether as manager, co-manager or investor;
Liaise with external counsel, regulators and other consultants to achieve the above objectives;
Assist the product development, product implementation functions in the development of products utilising sophisticated investment instruments or techniques;
Experience and Qualifications:
4-6 years pqe gained within a high level corporate law firm or in-house environment
Experience of bankruptcy laws throughout the EU of ISDA negotiation issues and credit issues generally;
Experience of advising Fund Managers of the legal risks associated with investing in all types of derivative instruments;
Competencies
