Senior advocate is sought to hold high profile role involving working on significant cases surrounding the protection of children at risk of serious harm.
An experienced Solicitor or Barrister, you will have an understanding of public child care law and current practice, procedure and case law relating to public law proceedings. You will ideally have considerable experience specialising in care proceedings, related court proceedings (such as Judicial Review) and family law advocacy.
The role will involve advocacy at all levels, to include the High Court and, where permissible, the Crown Court for cases of varying length and involving issues of legal or technical complexity.
You will have a clear understanding of the role and powers of local authorities and, most ideally will have gained experience acting for Local Authorities in public law proceedings.
You will be called upon to provide expert legal advice on the quality of evidence, the strength of cases and other legal or technical issues of proceedings or potential proceedings.
