THE ROLE

OVERVIEW:

The Corporate Banking Group provides professional legal advice and support to management and staff across Corporate Banking to offices in Dublin as well as overseas offices in London, US, Germany and France and Australia

Corporate Banking is a substantial and complex business incorporating relationship management (Institutional multi-nationals and Corporate mid-market), Acquisition Finance, Specialised Finance, Project Finance and Property as well as support functions such as Credit, HR, IT, Finance, Loans Admin and Marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and oversee the Corporate Banking element of the Global Markets and Corporate Banking Practice Group the provision of legal and legal related services to the Corporate Banking business, including in the following areas:

• Advise management and business on application of legal, regulatory and Group policy requirements to Corporate Banking business
• Manage legal risk within Corporate Banking
• Support and implement the Group Operating Plan in connection with the provision of legal services
• Deliver high quality transactional legal services and participate in cross-border transactional work
• Supervise legal adviser and paralegal
• Co-operate with Practice Head and Practice Grouping in providing services to Corporate Banking, Global Markets and other business units
• Advise on issues and transactions of strategic importance to Corporate Banking including transactions sponsored by Corporate Banking and establishment of new businesses, products and services
• Implement added value projects for Corporate Banking business including preparation and launch of precedent documentation, documentation reviews, training of teams, drafting and review of guidelines and policies
• Act as Corporate Banking point of contact for applicable Group units
• Advise on other business, transactional and operational issues as they arise in context of Corporate Banking business

THE PERSON

Minimum of 5 years' PQE in Banking/Corporate banking within a Leading/Boutique law firm or currently working within the Corporate Banking department of a Bank.

2. Understanding of business and markets within which business operates
3. Proven ability to provide applied legal advice in a commercial context
4. Strong academic background and technical skills, with a thorough understanding of legislative framework within which the business operates
5. Drive and energy
6. Integrity and independence
