Shipping lawyer

Our client has an established Shipping practice and is looking to recruit a Litigator of at least 3 years PQE with London market experience and contacts, though following is not necessary. This role offers outstanding career prospects as it offers a clear path to partnership.

The Shipping team provides legal services to the shipping, commodity trading, banking, business and insurance communities throughout the world. They represent a wide range of clients including shipowners, salvors, charterers, underwriters, insurers, traders and banks involved in domestic and international trade as well as in the shipping industry. A broad knowledge and understanding of the legal and practical complexities involved in moving goods and people within the UK and around the world is where the team can make a difference in supporting their clients. It is not only the legal skills in this field that sets the team apart but also the practical experience gained in working with marine and transport businesses and insurers over many years.

The team deals with major contentious and non contentious work in the UK and internationally. They have the practical knowledge and experience of former master mariners among the lawyers who handle both wet and dry matters for clients. The advice given by the team ranges from ship sale and purchase agreements to London arbitrations; ship arrest; marine casualties and accidents including oil pollution incidents; ship and yacht finance; offshore ship registration; charterparty and goods in transit disputes; shipbuilding and international trade contracts.
