Overview
The Insurance property damage team based in Birmingham is a part of the Commercial and Property Risk Group and provides solutions to the insurance property damage sector. Our specialist team of a Partner, 2 Associates and 12 Solicitors provides expert and practical advice for a number of major insurers over a range of areas:

• Public Liability / Property Damage claims
• Professional indemnity claims
• Property subsidence
• General property recoveries

In a variety of forums

• Technology and Construction Court,
• Arbitration,
• Adjudication,
• Lands Tribunal, and/or
• Mediation.

The team has grown considerably over the past 5 years and has ambitious growth plans, so there is considerable room for personal development within the team.

Beachcroft LLP is one of the leading firms in this area of work and this is an opportunity for an ambitious candidate to become involved in a growth area of business.

The candidate will be part of a close knit friendly team, who will assist and support the candidate in all areas of his/her work.

Role
You will be working within the liability team. This role is predominantly insurance defendant work for insured businesses and building contractors operating under standard forms of building contract, and will include consideration of policy coverage issues where applicable. The role also includes fastrack /multi track claimant work for insurers in the following areas:

• Fire
• Flood
• escape of water
• impact
• goods in transit

As a senior fee earner you will be expected to become involved in marketing activity and to manage junior members of staff when required.

Person
You will ideally have:

• a good understanding of general contract and tort.
• concern for quality and attention to detail.

It would be helpful if you have a knowledge of policy coverage or a property related discipline but this is not essential as we are willing to re-train the successful candidate in property damage law.
