Our Employment & Pensions team advises public and private sector employers on human resource issues from daily personnel matters, including disciplinary and grievance issues, to strategic management issues such as redundancy programmes, industrial action, and wrongful dismissal claims. As part of their service, the team provides management training and consultative advice tailored to the client's specific needs. Many of our employment lawyers are experienced tribunal advocates; between them they handle over 400 tribunal cases per year. The team has a strong track record in providing employment advice to public health sector clients Private sector clients include many blue chip companies.
The Role
You will be responsible for a split caseload of contentious and non contentious work.
You will develop strong working relationships with contacts in HR and legal departments as well as board directors within client organisations.
Within this role you will be conducting training and briefing sessions for clients relating to impact of new legislation and other employment law issues, attending Employment Tribunal and High Court hearings, liaising with counsel.
The Person
You will have a good academic record, together with 2-4 years pqe post qualification experience in employment law.
The emphasis on this experience should be on non contentious work and you must be willing and able to undertake tribunal work.
Previous experience of supervising and coaching less experienced members of the team is desirable.
Financial institution and corporate transaction experience preferable.
You will be an Independent thinker with a focus on generating commercial solutions to problems on behalf of clients.
You will be a confident communicator with an ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels and an enthusiastic team player with flexible approach.
