The Team

The Commercial and Property Risk team in the Bristol office handles property-related insurance claims including fire, subsidence, flood and recoveries and also advises on coverage issues and fraud.

The team has a national reputation and acts for many of the countries leading insurers. The team handles claims which range from a few hundred to several million.

The team broadly forms two parts, and this role is a senior replacement within the recoveries part of the team, which consists of 1 Partner, 1 Associate, 4 Solicitors, 1 Legal Executive and 4 paralegals. This part of the team deals with recoveries with a value of up to approximately £100,000 plus all subsidence claims.
The other part of the team deals with more complex and higher value recoveries plus defended claims, and consists of 1 partner, 1 associate, 3 solicitors and 1 paralegal.

The Role

The successful candidate will handle a range of mid value recoveries arising out of property perils including, for example, fire, flood and impact. It will not be necessary for them to deal with subsidence claims.

Ideally the candidate will also be ready to adopt a supervisory role in relation to less experienced members of the team handling similar but lower value recoveries.

Involvement in client relationship development e.g. networking/socialising with contacts from insurer client.

You need to be at least 3+ years qualified. Experience in property recovery work essential (including for example fire, flood and impact, but excluding subsidence) .

The candidate also needs to be a good team player with excellent communication skills.
