Solicitor - 3+PQE

Beachcroft requires a senior solicitor to join the Health Group Division of its Commercial Services Department in London. The Health Group operates from the firm's London, Leeds and Bristol offices; and the London Health practice is ranked first in the London Legal 500

Beachcroft is a market leader in providing legal health service, the firm is committed to providing top-level advice to its health sector clients and the appointment of a senior solicitor to join the Health Group practice is of strategic importance to the firm.

The firm has the nation's largest legal health practice, providing commercial advice to Strategic Health Authorities, special Health Authorities, NHS Trusts, Foundation Trusts, Primary Care Trusts and GP practices and private sector healthcare providers.
The role will include advising on the full range of commercial health sector matters including the procurement of goods and services (and the impact of EU regulations and guidance), commissioning contracts, joint ventures and corporate vehicles, mergers and acquisitions and the exploitation of intellectual property.

A key aspect that you will be involved in is to assist with business development initiatives including researching, with the assistance of the firm's business development team, existing clients and prospects and attending client meetings. You must have a genuine interest in the health sector and in particular the developing NHS market.

You will be reporting to the team partner, and will have your own caseload of commercial work, supervise team members and have a substantial involvement in marketing, business development activity and client care.

Ideally you will be 3 years plus PQE or equivalent with a genuine interest in the NHS and have experience of advising NHS clients proactively – either as in-house counsel or in private practice
You will need the ability to display a broad relevant commercial knowledge base (including drafting and negotiation), be a clear and confident communicator, enjoy meeting clients and capable of communicating confidently at board level, and combing high levels of technical skills with a need to provide pragmatic advice.
